Everything has it’s Place
Clutter is so common in our homes. But how do we deal with it?
The best option is for everything in your home to have ‘a home’. Every item needs a tidy place where it sits when not in use. This way when you go to clean up each piece can be put in it’s place & nothing is left hanging around.
This creates the need for useful storage.
If the issue is your lack of storage then you need to start thinking of your home in clever ways to add extra storage – where you need it. This can be done both as a renter or a home owner. For more information about smart storage ideas click here.
Thin about having storage where you need it. No point in a closet at the other end of the house if you never use it. Bedside tables drawers are great for extra linen, under the bed for extra blankets, & Mudroom style cabinets or hooks at your Entrance door for those items you need as you leave.
Clean out time
If you find you have too much ‘stuff’ it may be time for a clean out. A good Spring Clean can not only do wonders for your home but also for your mental state.
If you donate your old pieces to charity you can help someone else find something they are after, or selling the old items online or at garage sales puts more cash in your pocket. All of these are great ways to fix your clutter issues.
If you struggle to clean out, there are some great tips out there to use. This may be making it a game or a Sunday ritual.
Relaxation
Once you have edited & have a place for everything in your home, it not only looks neat but also allows you to mentally relax. It also makes it easier to find everything as it sits where it should & where it is the most useful.
